How to Patch a Pool Without a Patch Kit

This is the link for Rot3K Xi PUK (and maybe non PUK) editor. It's all Chinese however I use screenshots to explain how to use it to find relics and shrines.

(EDIT: tutorial updated with added pages that have translation for all the menu options, allowing for true experimentation of the powers of the editor. Apparently, so much can be edited you can make your own scenarios. This is done by editing everything in an existing scenario...like everything, force locations, their officers, their resources, location and appearance of officers, all of it.)

i had refunded the game because they didnt have translation.

With your help, I might be able to play. Time to wait for a sale event because it is 40$.

@(FLAH) Ken wish list it. Wish list everything on the internet. Companies always offer discounts on wish listed stuff.

This is the file for the ENGLISH movies for the scenario intros. It is only for normal not puk, but it is 11 of the scenarios.

I apologize in advance if this is like a copyright thing against TOS, but really, these are allll on youtube and probably posted by Koei on YT. Who would want this if you haven't already purchased the Chinese game? Just swap/replace them in your ROT3K folder "movies" with the existing ones, and wholla! Watch the scenario starts with English Voiceover and subtitles.

This is a google drive link to a PDF with a LOT of screenshots that either show the English menus or in the case where the English menu doesn't exist, the Chinese menu with comments showing what the various buttons/commands are. Between this and all the other files, and, some muscle memory getting used to the commonly used buttons, you really can play efficiently.

U dont need it , just play with your passion . Prepare your smart phone for translation . U will get it.

Does the game still work with these english patches?? Looking to buy but dont want to be disappointed at wasting the money if it doesn't work.

Here is a new link to the translations. I posted to mediafire as apparently, (and I do not know why) the translation file was against google drive TOS.

This file has all the translations that will work with the Steam version of the game. It's not perfect but it's more than the regular CaoShang translations. Cao's are included here as well.

(apparently, the link is removed on this post as well. I am not sure what's going on. These files are not .exe or executable files. they are .s11 files, which "should" be docile in nature. If anyone can shed any light on this please do so. these are the most important files for everyone. Someone please advise, however if this nonsense continues ill grab a server in like frickin' the Camin (misspelled on purpose) or something and make a website to post this stuff. Everything we are doing here only promotes purchases of this game on Steam. I am unclear on the problem.)

It has something to do with tampering with the game files similar to modding. Most companies dont like that and I assume Koei doesnt like it either.

These files can be flagged and taken down but if you were to seed it on a torrent then it wont be taken down.

You can also use mega websites to give files anonymously so it wont be taken down so easily.

I give you thumbs up on your effort to keep english patches going.

Thanks a lot for this link. Very nice manual. KOEI makes some of the best manuals in gaming.

Just another tip from a newcomer: to get acquainted with the Japanese version, you can watch youtube gameplay of this game and get to know the buttons that way. And if you are learning Japanese, this Japanese only version could actually be a blessing. Remember the wise words of Denzel Washington: "Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship."

This is just a nightmare thanks to Windows killing the DRM. Probably the most unique game in the series, and the only decent way to play it for anyone that doesn't read Japanese is a half-finished patch on an obsolete OS. Koei has a lot of nerve not just trying to sell us this untranslated 10-yr old DLC a 2nd time, but for a full $40, and just because their DRM prevents us from running it on Windows 10.

I dual boot just to play this game, and will continue to do so instead of giving Koei more money.

Remember some earlier posts about looking at the bottom footer bar that when you hover over a command it will "sorta" but pretty good tell you what it does. It will really become 2nd nature and muscle memory once you keep clicking and clicking etc. - this game is worth it.

Played this game a bunch back when the original, non-Power Up Kit was out in English. Big appreciation for working on a translation for it, been dying to play the upgraded version for years now. Just had a couple questions about this version:

1: What exactly is Absorb/Merge that PUK advertises? Is it related to the "Solicit Surrender" strategy?
2: Do you have translations for the edit officer menus? A minor thing, I know, but I have a really soft spot for the "create-your-own" features.
3: ...Any luck re-upping the links?
